Now in its 24th year, the Schock Foundation Voice Competition celebrates the vocal talents of full-time students at UCT. Contestants vie for top honours across a range of categories, including Best South African Song, Best Opera Aria, Best Art Song, Best Aria from an Oratorio, and the coveted Audience Prize. The competition is adjudicated by a distinguished panel of respected and experienced professional musicians.
Founded by the late Judge Philip Schock, the Schock Foundation was created to support charitable and educational causes across South Africa. The family's deep passion for the arts inspired the launch of this competition in 2002, offering a platform for outstanding UCT students to showcase their vocal artistry.
