Join us for a special fundraising recital in support of the Baxter Theatre, featuring one of South Africa’s most exciting young pianists, Isaac van der Merwe. At just 22, Isaac has already established an impressive national profile through victories in major piano competitions, concerto appearances with leading orchestras, and performances at festivals across the country. His programme showcases the breadth of his artistry through works by Mozart, Berg and other master composers. All proceeds from this concert will support the Baxter Theatre’s ongoing artistic and educational mission.

Isaac van der Merwe is the winner of numerous prestigious South African competitions, including the Johann Vos Piano Competition (Senior and Open Categories), the Pieter Kooij Competition, the Hennie Joubert Piano Competition, the Atterbury National Piano Competition, and the Human Naudé Music Scholarship Competition. He was also awarded second prize in the 7th UNISA National Piano Competition in 2023.
