’n “Sad”, stowwerige potplant staan alleen in die voorportaal van ’n kantoor. ’n Potplant is veronderstel om lewendig en mooi te wees en almal wat daarna kyk te laat goed voel. Maar wat as sý juis die een is wat ontvlugting nodig het?

Die plant vind maniere om van die verveling te ontvlug met haar verstrengelde humorsin en haar sang. En sy sing – baie. Wie sê ’n potplant het nie ook groot drome nie?

Hierdie kabaret belig die lewe van ’n plant wat ongelukkig is in haar omgewing. Ander karakters betree ook die landskap om komiese kommentaar te lewer en nog saadjies te plant. Die oorspronklike uittreksel is bekroon met die KKNK se Kanna vir beste Lucky Pakkie-aanbieding (2024).

Die Potplant: ’n Tragedie
(Cabaret, comedy-drama)

A sad, dusty pot plant stands alone in the lobby of an office. A pot plant is supposed to be alive and beautiful and make everyone who looks at it feel good. But what if she is the one who needs to escape?

The plant finds ways to overcome boredom with her twisted sense of humour and her singing. And she sings – a lot. Who says a pot plant can’t dream big?

This cabaret sheds light on the life of an unhappy plant, with other characters entering the landscape to offer comical commentary. The original excerpt was crowned with the KKNK Kanna for Best Lucky Pakkie Presentation in 2024.
