This winter, step into a world of music, mischief, and laughter as KickstArt Theatre returns to the Baxter with Puss in Boots, a joyful pantomime for the whole family.
From Steven Stead and the team behind last year’s much-loved Jack and the Beanstalk at the Baxter Theatre, and 20 sold-out award-winning pantomimes in Durban and Johannesburg, this production brings a playful, high-spirited story to life on stage from 26 June to 18 July 2026.
Set on a magical Caribbean island, Puss in Boots follows a quick-witted feline hero on an adventure filled with colourful characters, lively songs, and plenty of audience participation. It is a feel-good theatre experience that keeps children delighted and grown-ups thoroughly entertained.
Written and directed by Steven Stead and designed by Greg King, the production features a talented cast including Rory Booth as the booted hero; Belinda Henwood as the good fairy, Calypso Honeybunch; Bryan Hiles playing the evil shape-shifting goblin wizard, Grimbsy Withergood; Kyran Brady Taylor as the hapless miller’s son, Tom Marzipan; Blessing Xaba as Mother Merry Marzipan; and Lyle Buxton, Roshanda Lewis, Mthokozisi Zulu and Grace MacIlroy as some of Puss’ friends. This extravagant stage production is choreographed by Simone Mann, with lighting by Franky Steyn.
If you are planning your winter outings, Puss in Boots offers a warm and lively escape at the Baxter Theatre.
