Tankiso Mamabolo brings a 5 piece band to the Baxter for the official launch of her Sophomore album Thapo.
Written in 3 languages, the performance is a sonic exploration of
mourning as an act of life affirmation. She asks: "what happens when black women become ungovernable and relentless in our pursuit of joy through finding our own way through grief?"
The performance promises a range of genres from Rock and indie to reggae and gospel with themes that touch on love, rebellion and loss.
Doors open at 4pm to start at 5pm.
