Mfazwe ya Mwezi is a four-piece all-female band based in Cape Town, South Africa - whose name means "War of the Moon." Our collective is rooted in women empowerment, liberation, and creative storytelling.

Bringing together our diverse skills, we aim to create music that fosters social commentary, cultural expression, and community connection.
Our sound is a fusion of African Jazz, Folk & Story teling. We perform original compositions and reimagine African traditional pieces that create an intimate yet powerful musical experience. The band is composed of percussions, keys, African Instruments and vocal sections.
